Creation of frame presets has taken longer and was more involved than anticipated.
As of today, 52 separate presets simulating the range of image sizes from 5×7 to 12×18, landscape and portrait orientations, matted and un-matted presentation have been completed.
The actual virtual frames and mats were created with Photoshop CS3 and should allow the simulation of various materials and colors if desired at a later date.
The following sets of virtual frames are near release -
- Gallery Frames – with and without mats
- Brown tone and Black tone Flat faced wooden – with and without mats
- Brown tone molded frame – with and without mats
Since it was the goal to accurately display the relative size between image and frame so as to make the presets appear correctly, the background page sizes required are larger than a printer output size. To get around this requirement and since printers differ from user to user, the page size for the presets were established with a generic Postscript print driver.
If the user wants to print out the virtual frame with the image at a reduced scale, sized to fit your printer, included in the download will be a copy of the original images that can be used and scaled via the Identity plate dialog box.
In addition to a normal blog posting as the presets are finalized, a posting with more information about the specific preset and the actual files will be posted under the the Lr Preset Tab/Page, accessible from the Main menu above.
Prior to official release, here is a Sampler of Lightroom Print ModuleTemplate Presets for testing on your system. After download, unzip file and install the same as any other Lightroom template.
Additional user information
- As noted before with the calendar presets there may be a compatibility issue with Apple Systems.
- Review previous post on how to adjust image within a frame
Note !
- Please follow the procedures provide by Adobe for installing presets within the specific Lightroom modules.
- Need installation help - check out Matt Kloskowski’s video
- It is highly recommended, whether you are installing these presets, others that you have found on the web or may have purchased elsewhere, to backup your
database before proceeding with the installation.

Wow! You’ve been hard at work. These presets look fantastic. I can’t wait to download the new ones.

Thanks Laurel,
Got a few issues to work out such as file sizes, in particular with the mould frames.
Will probably have to reduce resolution, but since they are intended for visual use that shouldn’t be a problem.
I appreciate your input and enjoy your blog – http://www.thephotoenthusiast.com/
