more …. Crater Lake

Going through the set of images made during my recent rip to Oregon, I forgot that I had made multiple images so I could create a panorama of Crater Lake.

Here is what I did -

  • I set the exposure manually.
  • I took (8) overlapping images
  • Use the Photomerge function of Photoshop CS3 ..  auto align and auto blend
  • Removed sensor dust in Photoshop
  • Cropped to 3:1 ratio
  • Saved as PSD file
  • Reopened in Lightroom and applied tonal adjustments and sharpening.

If I could do it over, I would have found a way to bring my tripod. The images were taken hand held and I have a better chance of rotation while holding the camera horizontally than vertically. If I had my tripod I would have captured images vertically to capture more vertical height all around.

I appreciate your critiques and comments - what would you do to improve this image ?
