Up and Running
Posted by Peter in Buy a Print, Matt Kloskowski, Photoshop User TV on December 4th, 2007
The transfer of Camera’s View to WordPress is almost complete. Hopefully I can get back on a regular schedule of posting.
Had a chance to listen to the latest Photoshop Users TV Podcast , where Matt Kloskowski mentioned a Blog called PhotoPreneur. I decided to check it out and found a link to another site called Imagekind™.
What is Imagekind™?
From the Imagekind™ site -
Imagekind is about three things:
- Creating art from digital files
- Providing an online marketplace for selling art without any actual inventory
- Providing the world’s largest online venue for shopping for unique fine art prints
I have been trying to find a means for selling some of my work so I decided to give them a try.
You will see the following on images that are avaliable for purchase on Imagekind™ ![]()
Yellow Dingy
Posted by Peter in Book-Recommendations, Buy a Print, Lightroom, Massachusetts, Matt Kloskowski, Photoshop User TV, Scott Kelby, Seascape, Split Tone on October 5th, 2007
I just attended a Photoshop CS3 Power Tour from Kelby Training.
The seminar was sold-out and was great as I expected. The seminar was hosted by award winning author Scott Kelby
If you are not familiar with Scott, he is down to earth guy with a great sense of humor. Just a decent guy.
I am self taught in the use of Photoshop and have gain my knowledge primarily from reading Scott’s books and listening to his Podcast. His books are clearly written for all skill levels and also come with a dose of Scott’s welcomed humor.
This the book that is referenced in Scott’s Power Tour –
Scott, along with the other Photoshop guys, has a podcast which you can find at http://www.photoshopusertv.com/ or on itunes and if you want some insight into the latest in Photoshop and Photography related items checkout his blog at http://www.scottkelby.com/.
Now about this image, the photo was captured in Rockport Harbor and what caught my eye was the yellow dingy. I just finished watching a podcast by one of Scott’s fellow National Association of Photoshop Professionals team – Matt Kloskowski.
Matt demonstrated how to achieve this effect totally in Adobe Lightroom.
You can read more at Matt’s Blog or Scott’s link.
I think it is a neat effect. Let me know what you think.

Peabody International Festival 2007 Arts Galleria Results
Posted by Peter in Awards, Botanical, Buy a Print, Massachusetts, Painterly Effect, Photoshop, Pumpkins on September 10th, 2007
This last weekend was the 24th Peabody International Festival in Peabody Massachusetts.
I had four images in the Digital Photography Category of the Arts Galleria.
The results – a 3rd place winner and two honorable mentions. Here is the 3rd place image, originally taken in the Berkshires of Massachusetts. The image was altered with Photoshop where I created a “artistic” effect.

I just realized that when I made the transfer from Blogger, the Honorable Mention Award images were not transfered.
Here is one image, (the other image is the image of Portland Head Light mentioned in a earlier post).
Trying some new tools and techniques

Today I decided to try some of the techniques that I learned on Monday May 21st at the Adobe Photoshop Lightroom Seminar.
The seminar was taught by Scott Kelby -Director of Training, KW Computer Training.
The first image entiled ” Heading Out”, was taken from Wingaersheek Beach, Gloucester, MA and is towards Annisquam Light.
Annisquam Light – Google Earth Locator
I did not make any major changes to this image other than some minor tonal adjustments. I did however decide to crop into a panoramic view and sharpened the image in Photoshop. I liked the relationship that developed between the fishing boat and the lighthouse created by removing some of the sky and beach.
The second image, “Motif #1 in Red” was also taken earlier today in Rockport, MA. Other than sharpening, I made all the image adjustments using Photoshop Lightroom. I wanted the focus to be on “Motif #1″, so I decided to “drain all the color, except the red hues. What resulted is what you see here.
