The Adventures of a knowledge junkie…
Posted by Peter in Photography on May 15th, 2008
I have been a subscriber to Mental Floss Magazine for a number of years. I’m a knowledge junkie and Mental Floss is the magazine for knowledge junkies.
What I didn’t realize until today was that there are some interesting Photography related articles both in the magazine and also posted on their blog.
Take for example this blog posting about Amazing 70-year-old color photos.
From this article I found the The Library of Congress’ Photostream on Flickr where there are over 3500 images from the archives of the Library of Congress.
Check it out !
Quick Post – Photography from a historical perspective
Posted by Peter in Photography, Podcast on March 5th, 2008
I have referenced Jeff Curto’s – Camera Position before on this blog.
I do not know of any other Blog or Podcast that educates about the medium of Photography itself as does Jeff’s. After recently listening to his latest podcast I am compelled to mention him again.
If you are really into learning about Photography, including a historic perspective, travel over to Jeff’s blog posting called – The Camera in The Cathedral: Camera Position goes Historical
If you know of any other sites or podcast like Jeff’s, I would be interested in learning more.
Please post a comment for me and others to check out.
Want to learn more about photography

If you are attempting to take your photography to the next level, I suggest that you take the time to go back in time to do so. In particular, I suggest that you attend college via podcasting.
Being more specific, I highly recommend that you check out History of Photography Podcast by Jeff Curto.
On Jeff’s site you will find class lectures for History of Photography, Photo 1105 at College of DuPage. Though, intended as review for students in his class, Jeff has made his lectures available to anyone via podcasting.
Jeff is also an outstanding photographer. Check out his photography website – Jeff Curto Lens, Light and Time.
If that is not enough to keep him busy, he also has another podcast called Camera Position.
I don’t know where he finds the time, but I’m sure glad he does and that I “took” his class and listen to the Camera Position.
